American Milking Devon

american milking devon cattle at Head Waters Farm in Newbury, Vermont 100% grass fed beef, pasture raised, rotationally grazed
American Milking Devons are a rare breed of cattle.  They were one of the first type of cow brought over by the pilgrims, and fun fact- they are the cow pictured on the Vermont state flag!
Devon cattle are a triple purpose breed and can be used for beef, milk, or as oxen.  We love them because they are hardy and tolerate the long cold winters well.  They are excellent grazers and thrive on being 100% grassfed.  While we do raise some Jersey steers, Devons are the main type of cattle on our farm.
